The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) along with its three centers, DLA Aviation, DLA Troop Support and DLA Land and Maritime purchase the spare and reparable parts used throughout the Department of Defense. DLA Aviation is the Agency’s Aviation Supply Center purchasing parts for all the military services. Life Support Equipment is handled by DLA Aviation. Another DLA Aviation function is the Standardization Program Branch which is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of numerous standards including MIL-STD-849 and the adoption notices for the PIA standards.
